I agree totally. If you read any of my earlier posts I've said all along that CPQ is a solid company that would do well in the long run. I only attempted to point out that the unrealistic posts of "40 by the end of the week" were unrealistic and that from a technical standpoint a correction to 32 would be expected. I bought it today at 32 as I had my order in for a while now and do think that it will perform well with time. Some cannot accept however that there are problems with the merger that will take time to straighten out and therefore they seek to place the blame for the stocks poor performance on others. (Analysts and Reporters or whoever disagrees with them) No analyst will swing a company that trades as much as Cpq without having some truth behind what they say.

Well you think DELL produces number while CPQ do not, well you probably need to review
the earning report of CPQ in the past couple of quarters, and read the profile of CPQ and DELL, CPQ's profit margins are actually higher than DELL. With DEC, CPQ will take more shares in the high end market, and the difference with DELL in profit margin will be even larger in the near future. DELL will be just a PC box maker, and depends too much on PCs,
that is a dangerous sign. For CPQ, it has been translated from a PC makers to a technology
oriented whole computer company, with diversified product lines, from high end stations, servers to low end consumer PCs, from PCs, servers, workstations, storage products to
communication products, while DELL is still just PC box maker with screw drivers.
As to the mergers, We have seen a lot of those big mergers, and stock price went up as a result, examples: MCI worldcom ...etc. So, pls do not make your conclusion too early, the fire up of CPQ can be one or two quarters later,or it can even be tomorrow, just like you said nobody really knows, however patience always wins.
With the trading pattern of the pst couple of weeks, huge volume and stock price fluctuate within a narrow range, this stock is being accumulated big time. Today's down grade is a good sign, and give hose short the last chance to get out of the hook. The balance finally got broken !!!!
