Why would IBM get downgraded? They get all the K6's they need at manufacturing cost...as a matter of fact I just upgraded IBM...they are a shark FAB...
IBM is helping AMD stay alive vis a vis Intel...and at the same time help their own (IBMs) bottom line on PCs...Depending on the agreement they might even make some money making the K6's if they can sell them in the open market...
AMD only wins by flooding the market with K6's...they don't necessarily make any money. Their strategy is, obviously, take market share and worry about profits later when yields go up.
