One other drag we may be dealing with today is the revised GNP growth for the 4Q. Downward revision from 4.3% to 3.9% could be interpreted as a slower growth in the economy's demand for oil. (Actually, it may be a half-full story since the expectations were that it would be revised lower.)

Yesterday's move was not independent of external news.IOW,it was not a pure move,it was a big day because we had several news events.This sector is not turning around yet,if it was we'd be up again today.GD
