you certainly are right about the timidity of people and their willingness to yield to authority. there is an abundance of anecdotal evidence out there that is passed off as truth and provides the basis of outrageous claims.

nobody knows the future and nobody can make money doing what everybody else is doing. beating inflation in the long run can only be done by assuming some risk. risk is what very few are willing to accept as a part of their lives. especially in investments.

yet the biggest risk may be in handing everything over to someone else.
