I reject the WCOM takeover speculation. Bernie specifically mentioned he was interested in a profitable cellular operator. Seems to exclude NXTL at least for a while longer.

On the other hand, NXTL could be profitable if added to the WCOM group and NXTLs network service costs would just fold into WCOMs huge sunk investments and capacity. Nextel's junk debt rating could even be an attraction as rates are historically low and WCOM could refinance them at even lower rates (with $cash back).

Still, I am confident that NXTL has a huge run in it like others on this thread, and I hope that no one scoups up the company from us just before the turnaround point.
