Dominion Bridge Says It Has Held No Discussions With Royal Millennia Group
MONTREAL, Canada--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 27--Dominion Bridge Corporation (NASDAQ/NMS: DBCO - news; VSE:DMO.U - news; ''DBC'') confirms that it has not received any form of offer from Royal Millennia Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:RMGL - news; OTC Bulletin Board:RMGL - news) and issued the following statement:

We understand that Davie Industries management has never been approached by Royal Millennia. As a matter of fact, the company did not have any discussions with Royal Millennia relative to their proposal to acquire Davie Industries, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company.

If Royal Millennia wants to make a serious offer for the acquisition of Davie Industries Inc., Royal Millennia should direct its acquisition proposal to Legg Mason Wood Walker, the company's investment banker retained to review strategic alternatives to enhance the company's shareholder value.

Dominion Bridge was established in 1879. The company is active in the international engineering and infrastructure markets. It manages projects and operates facilities in North and South America, Europe and the Asia Pacific.

Dominion Bridge Corporation's subsidiaries are Dominion Bridge, Inc., Steen Becker, Inc. and Davie Industries. Its Australian subsidiary, McConnell Dowell Corporation, is a major Asia Pacific engineering firm.

Yeah, your scenario might be right on track. With earnings expected today and a few investors nervous about earnings, we might have seen a number of investors set up stop losses on their accounts before heading off to work. So without earnings, a little shorting can trigger quite a cascade. Will be interesting to see how it closes. If the scenario is correct, then we are likely to see a flurry of buys at the close since earnings are likely before the open on Monday.

Personally, I am not worried about missing the $1.20 and am looking forward to the conference call and the news and contracts that Eco has stored up. Sable contracts are beginning to be announced too.

That news story may have been an attempt to manipulate the stock. Make it look like the Eco acquisition of DBCO might not go through, thereby pushing both stocks down. On AOL it was mentioned that this Royal Millenia Group has recently been involved in Insurance and advanced 3D imaging. Offer for Davie looks 'bogus'.

David

Strange events have surrounded this stock recently.
I feel so ... manipulated. (Surprisingly, I think I like it!)
