Dick, the run to rise ratio is important- the question I'm struggling with is whether to use a time factor of 252 trading days per year instead of the number 360 despite the fact that there are about 100 less trading days than that in a year. My "professor" on this point says it is highly important to use actual trading days, so you must use "user-entered" gann tool or free form gann tool.

he also says Gann circles [25%, 50%, 100%] drawn using the Fib circle tool are key, these are drawn so that 50% circle touches the 1/8 and 3/8 lines in a quarter box and the prices are never to intrude into the 25% circle- if they do, your box is not good. These circles are supposed to resemble in arrangement the 5 spots on a dice with 5 spots on it. This is straight from Gann, so he is not making this up. Some of his examples are absolutely uncanny.

I will try to cut and paste some emails for you to try to explain this a little better. it will help me to understand a little better too. I will have to wait til later tho cause i am at work now and do not have all this stuff handy.
