Thomas, you really want us to read all this article <g>?? Thanks for posting. I saved it, reading it over the weekend.

My very first insignificant comment would be that I'm not against smoothing earnigs if it's within GAAP. To get another view of things, one can always look at cash-flow (from operations) to see what happened in "real" money terms coming into the Co. And one can always take out the HP-12C to add reported Revenues and Deferred Revs. together to obtain the "true" revenue picture. Accounts receivable also are a thing I watch, even more so the provisions thereon.

This is such a nice thread,

Have a great weekend everyone,
the other Thomas

Re: Thank you for the link!

That article was interesting. Well worth reading.

Thomas Haegin, you wrote "This is such a nice thread..."

Isn't it? Well-informed, intelligent, knowledgeable posters without ego problems. One of the very best Threads I know of.

Sometimes I get a little sad that I've little of substance to contribute, and I know you fellows only let me hang around because I'm pretty.

<sigh>
