Hi Joe,
I EMAIL'ed Investor relations two days ago with a nicely worded (no four letter words, used professional terms) missive telling them our SI group is a 'bit' concerned about whats going on. I guess since I did not sign my name 'Jeff Vinik' they are not going to respond.....

John <gggg>

If things continue to get worse we need to start a movement to have EP start selling his Porsches and buying some stock....

We need to have some sympathy for the Investor Relations folks at CPQ. They are in a very tough situation right now. The IR people can only do so much.

I think in retrospect the relative merits of the DEC acquisition should have been much more succinctly communicated by the CPQ top management to the investment community. Unfortunately, this was not done--at least I do not feel. And as a result, the stock price has not gone up along with the rest of the market.

I have substantial respect for CPQ. This company has truly shown leadership in the PC sector. By driving the price for PC's down, and as a result expanding the market to millions of new customers who otherwise could not have afforded PCs. I just hope that CPQ shareholders are rewarded some day for their patience.
