Interesting to see this topic. I just installed a SPARQ (Internal EIDE 1.0 Gig) a few minutes ago to back up my damaged hard drive before changing it out. It is backing up (in background which slows it a little I've read) right now. Last I looked it had transferred 160MB in 15 minutes. That seems a good bit slower than claimed. I'll have to check my installation.
Cost me $199.00 at computer City. Three 1.0 Gig cartridges were $99 (It came with one). I comparisoned a good bit before buying and it beat IOM cleanly on price/gig. Easy to install even for me, a non-technophile. They also have a 1.5G version called SYJET (I think)
