The parasitic infestation of the 1001 strain that necessitated development of this new hybrid left indications that 69000 IU were directly infused into 1001. I was not aware that this could not be done, but Leroy's research appears to question the veracity of that 69000IU acquisition directly from the parasite.

Another topic for the luncheon seminar would be growth rate. I like using the PEG(PE to growth rate) since it can asses the viability of a high or low PE. While any value of PE is commendable for plants in the dwarf stage, it would be good to establish upper limits for growth. The high PEs afforded certain plant varieties is a direct result of high expected growth rate. PEGs less than 1 are poised for exponential cell development.

An interesting study would be whether the creation of this new strain for 1001 will result in the depopulation of the original test bed.
