Tha is a pity. I have unlimited local access from BellAtlantic for the MCI local number in the Boston area for about $30+/MONTH. I guess competition in local service should help you. Are you sure there is no flat rate for numbers within your metropolitan area?

BTW this news may not yet be out in the trading floor. AOL should tank a few points. If I did not have such a large short position I would take a quick short here for a few points.

Example of another thing that should scare AOL (example, mind you, not direct competition): Bell Canada now offers business customers free internet access. Use their long distance, get free internet service.

Look out AOL, the phone companies will be after you. And in the realm of price-slashing, service-packaging, under-cutting, anti-competitive practices, MSFT has them all beat. One of these days...
