Channel check:

Circuit City here in Columbia, Mo. no longer sells Classic Zips, only sells ZipPlus. The salesman said it was because ZipPlus had better features (yea - but it also costs $60 more!). There were about 8 ZipPlus and 3 LS120's, no SYQT at all, no Jaz.

Computer store on campus (Univ. of Missouri). Big triangular Iomega display. 4 VST laptop Zips, 10-15 Classic Zips, 4 ZipPlus, 5 or so Jaz. Disks at the display and at the checkout counter. No SYQT, no LS120's anywhere. FWIW, Zip is king on this campus and I suspect on most campuses in U.S.

Trading play on SYQT! Everyone on board!!!

SYQT closed Up almost 10% and at one point hit $3 Up 17%. What news pending? Possible OEM announcements for Quest? New SyJet 2.5 Gig? What could it be?

Also, check out the latest glowing reviews of SparQ from Fortune:

Syquest has a new external storage drive that's every bit as good as Iomega's Zip drive, and a lot cheaper.

The Sparq is the fastest gadget I've ever plugged into a parallel port. It copied a 133-megabyte folder of graphics from my hard drive in a shade over three minutes. That's flying.

Face it. Iomega is no longer the value leader that made it what it is today. It's products are worse than the competition, and sell for more $$$.
