Yes, CSCO was one of my finest long-term holds before selling after 2 years from a (split-adj) $21 for $56.1 last Fall. However, this year ASND is indeed kicking CSCO's butt in %returns. Growth is great, but value and growth is far better!

It's a no-brainer that ASND will outperform CSCO this year. Of course, you all knew this since no one took me up on my gentleman's bet last Dec. that this would be the case.

I can't wait to see today's 1998 YTD returns for networking! Never fear, I shall forward them here...

JRH,

CSCO is an outstanding company and the stock is STRONG. Incredible execution. Will it be strong in the future ? I don't know.
I try to be long when the stock goes up. I want to be out or short when it tanks. Sure CSCO did better than ASND last year. But i don't care since i bought my ASND @25 in december.

Long term, I'll keep my CSCO stock

I'm trading stocks. My networking knowledge is limited. But my perception is that CSCO has a lot of competition and they seem not to be the undisputed technology leader. That's what keeps me out of this one at current levels. It's just not MSFT or INTC.
One bad earnings surprise and CSCO could go down big time. But i've been wrong with CSCO for 2 years now....

good luck
