Wesley, you can read the details by following back thru the messages on this thread over the past week or so. Not much to add to that.

For my part, I'm glad this ugly week (-20%) in MRVC is over. I thought selling the July 30 puts was a good call but now they are slightly underwater also and we are within spitting distance of where we started out this year.

I guess I shouldn't complain too much as I knew the Beta on the stock before I bought the first share.

Dave

This is my opinion and I by no means speak for the whole thread.
By looking at the bid-ask volume, the institutional trades and the price fluctuations for all of this week, I think that we have finally bottomed out. This stock is way oversold and it is a steal at these prices. The weekend presents a great opportunity for traders to re-evaluate a stock, you can say it is a natural and a long period trading curb. Many seious traders will have the opportunity to research MRVC and they will come to the conclusion that this stock is fundemantely very healthy, is'nt that what counts in the end? So, I don't really care if MRVC is below, above or on the side of the 50 day M.A or any of this technical bull; a great and solid performance like that of MRVCs shall and will be rewarded. After all that has been said and done this last week, I have a hunch that MRVC will have to rebound this coming week or something really wrong must be going on, typically stock manipulation, company screwed-up books etc.

Last but not least, I have a friend called Roger and every stock he longs will deffinitley crash, he is a walking short detector and does'nt know it. Guess what? he bought MRVC last Friday and the stock drops 5 points on Monday, he did the same with IOM, ORCL. The good and encouraging news is that the moment he sells the stock seems to rebound effortlessley, thank GOD he sold MRVC at 23 1/2 today.

<<Perhaps someone could fill me in why this stock got cratered on GOOD NEWS?>>

If we knew for sure we would tell you.

Seth says it's momentum players moving out. If so, they are selling at the bottom after buying near the top at $35+. These are obviously very smart people we are talking about - they probably manage some large funds.

MRVC is selling at just over 18 times 1998 earnings estimates of $1.24, and I suspect that earnings number will turn out to be low as the year moves on and Xyplex starts to be accretive.

Buying at $23 is a sure winner IF YOU ARE PREPARED TO HOLD.

Good Luck Wesley! I thought 24 1/2 was a bargain a couple of days ago :-). Let us hope the direction of this tape changes soon.
