Frostman,

Could the weakness in Vivus's stock be attributed to the streets concern that Vivus may not have enough product demand to support the new facility?
If Vivus cannot stimulate enough demand to support the new facility we could be in for some real trouble, especially with the launch of Viagara.
If you remember, last quarter they blamed the decreased revenues on production problems, yet the wholesalers inventories rose. How was that possible if demand was high?

Then they said it was necessary to begin advertising to stimulate sales due to some demand curve. Well, if 400,000 first time users could only produce 4,800 refills per week after one year, and it is now necessary to advertise, then that would tell me that muse has been only marginally successful.
Even if they had 10,000 refills per week after one year, it would indicate a marginally successful product.

If their advertising campaign doesn't create some enormous demand and the refill rate doesn't increase dramatically it could spell trouble with a capital T.
A 90,000 sq. ft facility sitting idle could be a real cash burner.

So many questions, but so few answers!

RT

PS. Obviously, Vivus's open house did little to convince analysts that prosperity was just around the corner.

- The near-record short position you refer to - 10.6 million - has to be good news for us & bad news for the short sellers.

- What's going to happen as the plants are approved; profits increased; broker recs; the share buybacks - etc...

-- My point is: SHORTS ARE TOAST.

Out.
