Just saw some news on the Internet Tax Freedom bill. I was actually pretty surprised when I saw it wasn't some kind of shield from taxes to stimulate Internet growth. In the words of the web site:

house.gov

"The aim of the Internet Tax Freedom Act is neutral tax treatment of economic activity, electronic or otherwise. Toward this end, the bill precludes state and local taxes that discriminate against or single out the Internet."

To hear some people talk about it, you'd think that all the online sellers wouldn't have taxes anymore. All that bill says is you can't tax the internet more than the local taxes. I hadn't even known that some states were thinking of taxing online purchases more than regular purchases in order to fund some special programs.
