And in our last tech downturn I was especially appreciative of their 30% margin ratio! Holy frijoles! Be careful what you ask for, because you might get it! I use a real-time quote screen so I get the bid/ask prices, but if I didn't, then yes, I suppose I'd like to see the last price, too (especially if that's what they're using to decide whether my margin account's equity percentage is 29.9% or 30.1%!). And to help answer your general question, Ameritrade uses the last trade price.
