james brady--- re <now where do you stand on CPQ>.... Still loving CPQ. I tried to talk the world into buying for some time. Loved the last 2 splits. Just think 600 shares a year ago went to 1500 then to 3000. The splits may not happen as fast and there may be a little time involved but CPQ has the range to compete with the box makers and the big boys---with DEC they can really compete with IBM now. I own some CPQ that will never be sold. I also trade it. Buy on the big dips -- like now at 32 and sell in the 33 1/2 range as it fluctuates. Downside is limited IMO and if caught with a little extra as it flys,,, all the better. If caught with some and it drops a little farther-- just pay the margin interest as it will be back. CPQ is the ONLY stock I hold. I trade many issues but only hold this one. The blues are so high now it makes one dizzy wondering if the prices will keep being inflated as mutual/index funds buy them or if they will take a well deserved hit soon. Some of the techs are going to come down hard--- CPQ should have a soft landing in comparison... Must stop rambling----- CPQ is my favorite,,, it is the only issue this trader suggests is a long term investment that stands a great chance of having little possible to fall and unlimited upside. I have made many mistakes trading but not ever by holding CPQ. As I hear some mumblings about CPQ I wonder what would be said by those if they had held ORCL when it missed earnings by 4 cents and dropped 30% overnight.....
