Martin King mighta said it but he didn't originate it. See St Francis of Assisi.

Well, I sure knew it was Martin Luther, but also forgot it was beloved Brother Francis.

Also, just jumped to Susan's reference to the quote. For years I asked my super-commie, totally Marxist-Leninist Legal Aid lawyer boss whether or not Martin Luther was a communist or a man of God, since he is absolutely the top of the pile of humans the communist Americans seem to worship, and
he never did commit to whether ML was or was not.

I believe he was a believer, but his changing of the words of Francis' prayer and presenting it to the very in-need-of-Christ-Germans, of all people, as a New Age look inward to yourself, you can do it all by yourself, is not too much of a testimony to a true relationship with Jesus Christ. I am disappointed, as I was hoping that at the bottom MLK was really a Christ-follower.

Does anyone know? I have wondered for years.
