The short positions have been decreased in 2/98:

By position decrease from previous month:
viwes.com

By short position on report date:
viwes.com

Apple was ranked as #1 in short squeeze in terms of the number of
shares in 2/98, reduced about 37%.

However, the percentage of shorts (# shares in shorts/total
outstanding shares) is still a lot higher than competitors, such as
Dell, Gateway, etc.

The coming week will begin with a new month and it is expected the
short squeeze continues. It is likely to reduce another 37% at least
to under 7m shares in shorts, the percentage reduced from the current
9+% to 5%-6% as the mean in the same industry.
