For Tom Dorsey:

In your book you provide two alternative long entry techniques, one on a breakout pattern and one on a pullback subsequent to the breakout. You also suggest buying 1/2 position on the breakout and the other 1/2 on the pullback. Options are also suggested as a proxy for the stock, but you emphasize that one should never average down in options.

My question is if in using options, you would recommend always waiting for the pullback to put on 100% of the position, since by definition, putting 1/2 on at the breakout and 1/2 on at the pullback would require "averaging down"?
