A possible short squeeze and good pop in a Canuck Stock

You probably heard about the V-CHIP

Well FCC announced that legislation will go through and TV signals with the new ratings will be available within 30-90 days.

A company called Tri-Vision International (TVL on the Alberta Stock Exchange ASE). Has been nailed heavily in the last few days because a competitor SoundView (owned by Acacia (ACRI on NASD)) appears to have a tailor made decoder for the new ratings and a patent to back it up.

TVL though has already signed distribution deals with Ingram entertainment and ANTEC in the U.S. and BeamScope in Canada. They have also recently licensed OEM chips to Samsung for V-chip televisions. The prototype was debued in Jan, 1998!

Financing for the building of these decoders (contracts with Ingram) is rumored to be a done deal. This means they can pump out decoders.

SoundView won't be able to offer decoders for a while and has no distribution agreements of licensing.

I think TVL will rise back up from the flames of last week 40-100%.
