That was writing naked puts.

I used to use stop losses a
LOT. However, as you point out, I often lost my shares at the low point of the day, never
to see the price return to that level, except maybe months later.


This is the problem and there is a cause. The stop loss orders are seen by the market makers. They only need to get the stock price down a bit to buy your stop loss order and those of others and then return the stock to its prior price and sell those shares. What a deal!<G>

I understand the IRA limitations. That makes certain vehicles not accessable.
