Thanks for the warning. Yes, I thought about all the risks associated with farming. I even happened to see the movie version of "Grapes of Wrath" with Henry Fonda recently. As an Okie myself the dust bowl stories are still fairly keen in my mind. But I have been looking for a long term place to park cash with potential returns better then traditional money instruments. Thats what I liked in FAMCK. Whats your opinion of her Bear-Sterns recommendation?

Here's an interesting post on the effects of El Nino on agricultural commodities. Would Farmer Mac be a good way to play this you think ?
