Excuse my RR spelling...

I pressed publish too early and the clock ran out on my 15 min of edit.

Just to complete the thought

>>Even in the heyday growth of early U.S. railroads, the U.S. and other railroads agreed to standardize on the B&O's track guage. But did this mean the B&O became a single monopoly? Hardly. Gage (sp) Can youThis is not unlike the gage>>

The B&O did not become a monopoly just because it was decreed track sizes would be standardized along the B&O's size. The B&O happened to be the first U.S. RR and it was located closer to Washington that other RR's. Despite this political clout, other RR's and car building cos. blossomed after this decree. The Pennsyvania RR eventually took control over the B&O.

Track standardization and other conventions such as "car-sharing" allowed the RR industry to grow that much faster, to the benefit of this countries growth and development as we pushed the western frontier further west.

Excuse all the words, typos, etc.

Good luck!

Fred, through all this, you still seem to miss the point. John Young is a shyster with what I consider to be a proven record of taking lots o cash at our expense. IMO, John Young still runs the show. You are under his clutches. The refusal of John Young and company to allow any other board members clearly shows their dictatorship and their intentions IMO. Any other Novell exec with the poor performance of John Young was canned, yet he remains, along with his other faithful followers on the BOD. In Novell's case, the lawsuit may have more significance than most due to the blatant disregard for shareholders that's gone on for years. From a credibility standpoint, Novell is John Young IMO. You want to see a 5 point pop in the stock, help get rid of him. I have no doubt that one way or another the company will continue to stabalize over the years, but if you want fast action and return to the limelight, get rid of John Young and crew, replace them with some Silicon Valley big names...you've got it...IMO. Why Novell investors are so tolerant to this situation is waay beyond me.

Fred, one other point you seem to miss...ES can't move John Young or other board members out. The board members go where JY leads. Further, no one including IR ever did explain what a Vice Chairman is, the title he took when Eric Schmidt started. He had promised to retire, but they did not get the man they wanted, and the BOD obviously decided to they needed to maintain JY's experience to guide the new rookie. It's my understanding this is what he did for Marengi. Marengi said something to the effect of "he's a great guy, even gave me his phone number and said to call anytime"...all the while delaying the CEO decision for 9 months and collecting that 10K a week. We'll have to check the annual report to see where compensation stands at this point.

Someone keeps suggesting a stock buyback. Novell has made it clear this is not their intention with their cash, and the statement yesterday regardling "letting it sit" served as continued clarification of their position, at least to me. This is the BOD's nest egg.

Bottom line, the root of Novell's problems as many perceive it, remains.

Fred before you start labeling Joe pathological while calling family important

Get it through your thick skull, that some of us have done a little more to try to change things for the benefit of the shareholders then you have. In plain English, have you ever had the chief counsel of Novell call you up in the dead of night and threaten to sue you? Why because you were criticizing Joe Marengi's disasterous stewardship of Novell. Did you ever lift your little finger to put someone of Schmidt's calibre into the CEO spot? Have you done anything except the usual crap flames that can be found on chat lines all over the Internet. Tell me big man, what are you really all about?

You ought to apologize to Joe for stupidity and bad manners. As a stockholder of Novell you ought too get down on your knees and kiss his ass for what he has done for you.

I'm not even bother going to include "quotebacks" to refer to Fred (and the rest of the board). Go ref the msg# to remember what you wrote a couple of days ago (while I was away) in addition to the follow on drivel, because your 15 min. window was closed. Soooooo,
Fred......

Look Fred. Let me cut right to the chase, OK? You are pedantic. You are long-winded, and in love with yourself. Do me a favor. If you don't want to read my posts, hit the little "skip" button when you see my name, okay. You didn't bore me "that much" before, but know I can say with all sincerity, you bore me.

Go cheerlead for Novell and Eric, and yada, yada, yada, and forget about trying to do some pop psyche on me. You don't know me, my past, nor "twat" about me.

If you say you've followed this thread, then you'd already have known I'd admitted to being "early" with Novell (many times). So, that is a "non-news" item here. That is NOT to say I haven't been very successful with "other" investments.

Don't worry Fred, Novell isn't going to put me in the poorhouse. Not even by a "whisker".

Also, this is a "public" BBS in case you were'nt aware. As long as the guidelines are followed, then it's "anything goes". So again, do me a favor, either talk to the choir now, or "yourself", because I'm not particularly interested in having any dialog with you.

So, gimmie a break.

HIT THE FREAKING "SKIP" BUTTON WHEN YOU SEE SOMTHING BY ME. OK FRED?

G'bye already!

Sheesh.......<and I thought I've seen pedantics before..., and megolomanaics.... man......>

PS: Don't bother with a comeback. I'm not interested.
