KAD.....After a long analysis like yours all I can say is - Right On the Money!!!!.......CPQ's shares will be a rocket once the merger is successful.....when the Qtrly. numbers PROVE it.....and you are right...it's not like there aren't other good companies out there....Two of my favorites are MSFT and DELL....There's nothing "wrong" about being invested in several solid companies at the same time.........George

Great post. I concur.

But I need to add to this " there is also a non-retail channel which is the channel for Compaq's bread and butter Commercial Desktop products."

The distribution channel not only sells desktops such as the DeskPro, but small workgroup servers like ProSignia and very large $50-100K/unit profitable ProLiant Enterprise Servers.
