Teddy -- Thanks for the post. If they asked me, I would be happy to write for them. But I suspect they have other fish to fry.

I am sure they are professional enough to not have their view of the sector affected by anyone "pissing them off".

I just think it is important to point out to my brethren the ways words can be turned to suit the writer. I was the editor of a few offshore industry newsletters/trade publications for five years and I know how this works.

Every writer has a tilt. Reporters should ideally be unbiased, but that is impossible. Writing is itself a form of expression and persuasion. The writer is trying to convey his perceived message to the reader and will occacionally -- and not always intentionally -- omit or add words that can substantially change the original meaning of the message -- Words and phrases that shift the reader to the view of the writer.

Teddy, maybe you could be the cub reporter or stringer for thestreet.com and do a routine survey of all realted SI boards and report back to them with all the rumors and other factoids you come across. Might beat throwing papers. I would ask for $25 for every item you send them that they use.

Surely Mavis herself doesn't do that grunt work. She generally writes too good to be spending alot of time in the trenches.

Maybe one of our own brethren is Mavis' grunt right here amongst us. If so, I would predict it to be none other than....

I hope he gets a break, not a brake. No braking zone, here.

TEDDY: What's this about girls not knowing what they're talking about? (Ref: your comments on Mavis S. on street.com)I think the truth has finally come out. You cannot possibly be 14 years old. It takes more years than that to get an ATTITUDE in the gender/bias area! SHAME on you! (g)
mph (one of the "girls")!!!

P.S. The truth is that when it comes to reporters or media types, neither sex has the market cornered on stupidity! Stupidity is the great equalizer and equal opportunist!
