Well, gee, Mike, who can argue with a reverend? It must be a true story. Hmmmm, I do actually believe in ghosts, because I have lived in a house with one. My understanding of ghosts, though, is that they are the spirits of people who die before their time, and do not make the appropriate transition to whatever world is next, because they have so much still pulling them back to earth, or sometimes because they are so tormented. So it is a little different from your story, where the ghost appears immediately at the house of girls she wishes were better friends. The ghost in my house was the young husband of a wealthy San Francisco socialite at the turn of the century, who died soon after they had four children together. He liked to rock in the rocking chair, and one weekend he left the bathtub on and did quite a bit of damage.

Of course, as I am writing this I am reminded of the very recent discussion with Jim on this thread, where we are talking about memetics and also spirituality, and I am arguing that perhaps souls exist only because we need them to do so, for our own comfort. This is definitely an area where I am still searching for answers.

What about you?
