When common values are not shared, it is impossible to agree on solutions.

Do you think there are "common values" between people from
Massachusetts, Texas, California, Georgia and Alabama ? (Arguably,
though some may disagree...they do have a common language :-))

I am sure some will answer yes and have examples to prove their
point. Others will answers no and have answers to prove their
point.

India and USA are examples where diverse cultures are to a
varying degree able to coexist and agree on solutions. They
all have different problems. I am not as pessimistic, though
one can always find room for improvement. Europe is
progressing towards unifying to make its diverse cultures prosper.
India seems to be suffering a takeover of political apparatus by
criminal mafias. (Don't think diversity is the problem there).
SE Asia is learning that balloons based on bad economics burst.
USA ? ...Seems to be debating how many foreign workers it really
needs to keep the fuel for a marvellous economy going...without
having to fix its local schools....that may require public spending.
(the dirty word).
