I don't think that's necessary - were talking about MRVC here. Besides the price theory will, of course, be opinions that will be as equally valid as mine.

"I'll post to the ASND thread and ask for responses to prove it to you" Here's one right now: ASND proved to be extremely astute in acquiring CSCC because of the increasing competition in the RAS/RAC market they once dominated, AND CSCC's products allowed them to say they are an end-to-end supplier to the telco/RBOC/CLEC market where margins are much higher than with RAS/RAC, especially now that Cisco is buying its way into market share.

Without the completeness of offerings the Cisco move in a frontal assault aimed specifically as ASND would have driven the price down very substantially...to the teens? One will never know BUT ASND has stated that the RAS/RAC revenues are flat with declining margins so it's obvious that the CSCC product line is making a huge difference. In fact the merger was a master stroke, a measure of the brilliance of the management which, OTOH, has/had stumbled badly in its relations with the Street.

MRVC is a mini-end to end supplier now with the Xyplex acquisition; the new offerings Xyplex brings to the table remain to be seen in terms of competing with the Ciscos and Ascends of the world but MRVC has a niche in providing good feature sets at lower cost than the competition in the small to mid-size customer sector so look for Xyplex's product to be in that niche as well.

I guess this is repetitive with Dave's and Sector's responses but we all seem to share the same view, essentially.

IMHO
