Personally, I find Yahoo! and AOL to be very different investments. To me, Yahoo! seems to have lots to gain by any and all internet changes. Same thing with the other "search engines" (though calling them search engines now seems to be a misnomer). I think that AOL's ultimate loss will be a big gain to it's competitors: Yahoo!, Lycos and the others. People may begin with AOL but will ultimately migrate to the web for a variety of reasons. (Just like people start with a Packard Bell computer, but often "upgrade" to another brand [Dell, Gateway] as they become more savvy). That said, I wouldn't short Yahoo (though I admit I'm mighty tempted on valuation). Though it may be more vulnerable than AOL due to Wall Street's misunderstanding (imho) of AOL's future potential. I may come to eat my words, but as of right now I'm putting my money (so to speak) behind Yahoo.

White Shoes,

Tahnks for your advice. I don't own this stock short or long and I don't even care for it. I had some Infoseek which I just sold Friday ( maybe a bit early) for a 9 pt. gain. I just told somebody on the AOL thread good luck for their Yahoo short. Just to ask, does one then have to pay this kind of money for a glorified internet "Yellow Pages"?

WS,

"keep a tight stop".

100's of posts on this thread have been devoted
to discussions of how these tight stops are what keep AOL afloat.
The evidence is anecdotal but bears keeping in mind. Would appreciate
your thoughts.
