Seems like AMD finally figured it out. They can get chips cheaper by outsourcing. It should also be noted that its a "straight foundry" deal. IBM will not be using any of the chips produced nor marketing it as IBM-K6 (wonder what that does to the previous IBM packaging deal).

Also wonder if AMD will still maintain their 25% less than Intel policy (Since IBM will not be able to produce the chips as cheaply as Intel can and the corressponding markup).

AMD is moving towards becoming a "fabless" company. Wonder what it will do to the BOOK value everybody seems to be shouting about.
