RE: Typo? 1998 Vapor Awards.

>> I just received and opened up the latest issue of New Media (3/3/98) which features its 1998 Hyper Awards. The "revolutionary" Quest won "hands down" in the Removable Storage Product category. <<

Are you sure it wasn't a typo? It sounds like they meant the "1998 Vapor Awards".

Regards to all fellow capitalist dogs.
As this is my first message I would like to introduce myself.
I have a degree in Finance & Investments but never worked in the field.
Am responsible for the computer efforts of an organization of over 500 people in state government.
Have missed the whole bull market! Made some money in real estate.

My wife calls my involvement in SYQT gambling. If she read some of your comments she would probably call it possible suicide.
It gives me an adrenalin rush similar to the feeling I would get when as a young man I would cross a dance floor and ask some good looking chick( sorry for the leftover term from the sixties) to dance.

I have a few observations about SYQT:

See page F2 of 3/3/98 NY Times about Iomega policy for charging to receive support. It seems they are settling in Delaware and giving in a little but still no free support.

PC World March 1998 - See massive article beginning on p135 etc, SyJet is BEST BUY over Iomega. Zip receives low end BEST BUY.

Windows Magazine March 1998 - WINLIST for SparQ " easy installation, excellent pricing, good backup software and solid performance earn it a spot on our WinList"

PC Magazine -Various issues - Editor does not list Syquest under mass storage subject index in the back of magazine. Does someone know how to rectify with the editor.

I purchased a Zip recently and a Ditto and had to pay extra for the NT drivers. This drove me ballistic. This is tantamount to withholding the tires on a new car. Does Syquest hold the drivers hostage on their products. If they make all the drivers freely available, then this should be clearly advertised in their literature. To me these practices are penny pinching mean spiritedness. In the past I have avoided doing business with Iomega for such practices.
