maurice

so theres two ways of interpreting that:

-bad-because the shorts covered without much appreciation in the stock price;

-good-because people may think ssax will go higher so they better bail out now

i would love to of had them both myself.<gg> whats your take???

comments/critisms

as always that a .25($1.50 in selected regions of the country as i have become enlightened to) will buy you a cup of coffee.<gg>

Maurice,
Short interest for full month will be out in several days. I believe some of the shorts realize that the downside is limited and the upside much greater. After all, lots of damage has been done. It will be interesting to see for full month since that will include earnings and announcements. This is still a significant amount of short interest since I believe the float is closer to 20 million rather than 46 million shs. A break above 10 on good news would probably bring many shorts to cover IMHO.

New short interest for Feb- 3,589,299. Number almost same as your Barron's number. Appears earnings and conference call offset each other in their effects on whether SSAX is a good short candidate.
