Hi Billwot. If you can stand the volatility now would be a great time to be loading up on cpq according to Phil Orlando of Value Line.

FWIW I bought 500 Innova (inva) Friday on the recc of a friend who knows the company well. Says they are selling everything they can produce.
Expected eps of over $1. in 1999. In a high pe sector (telecommunications equipment) it is selling at 16 5/8.

billwot. I am not sure now if you got lucky that you got stopped out on Friday below 32. I got out just below 34. I got out because there was all this talk about CPQ stuffing the channels. But now I am reading that the channels are not stuffed. They supposedly are not able to cover all the demand in their Presario line. Dealers can't get all the merchandise they want. And there was a press release late Friday that sales in January were up 97% if I remember correctly and they can hardly fill the orders. But things should be back on track by end of March. That does not sound like channel stuffing to me, more like problems with production. Keep your eye on it Monday. It could go back up depending on how the news is being taken. Like I said in my earlier post: I am ready to get back in with the drop of a hat if I see the first sign of an up move. I have an almost 2 point leeway.

Here is one article. I try to find the other one from the company.

billwot. Intel warrants and CPQ. I hope you did not get tempted and bought CPQ today at 33. I had written a post that I was not buying yet but I was tempted when it fell below 31. Almost did buy then. But it went higher too fast on me, I was hedging for 30 gg. Sometimes it does not pay to be greedy. gg. I will not be able to check on CPQ tomorrow morning. Hope I don't miss the boat on a good buy.

Here is an interesting link. Someone had asked me if I thought there would be an issuance of a new step up warrant and I answered it would be pretty stupid to do so instead of just extent the current warrants.
