Gabriel,

Congratulations on your recent success in the market. You have done your homework and it has paid off handsomely. I have not done badly myself. We are the fortunate ones. A moment of silence is in order for McNabb.

I think the recent information on CPQ is very interesting. I believe that DELL has won the basic business game. Here is why.... Two quarters ago CPQ, IBM, HWP , Pakard Bell came after DELL with their BTO inititives. HWP and IBM even set aside a war chest to stunt DELL's growth in the corporate market. Despite all these efforts DELL has not been discernibly affected and it continues to outperform analyst expectations. DELL improved its inventory turns and they are now down to an amazing 7 days of inventory. CPQ has failed to achieve its 21 day goal and stands at 42-56 days of inventory. Note that this is without counting the inventory in their retail channels which is another 4 to 8 weeks. Their ROA is also seemingly unassailable.

DELL is just a unique company.

You win the "Great Truths" award.

All the rest of our thread discussion -- be it puts, options, TA, or whatever -- is just so much cocktail party patter.

Remember when MSFT finally became a "must have" on Wall Street? It had run a long way at that time, but it has run a long way since. Dell is playing the same role now.

Let's get on the trolley, or add more to the trolley, and Ride, Sally, Ride!

Bears welcome, too.
