Deepak,
Re -- AMD K6 Yield Issues Have Been Resolved..

With 2.2 MU this Q on a Fab capable of producing 5-6 MU a quarter with reasonable yields and significantly more with good yields, and the price's on K6 tumbling, what do you expect AMD's results will look like. Also note htat 233Mhz K6 is the low end sub-800, sub-1000 systems.

Do you expect them to make a profit this Q. And if AMD migrates to .25u by the 2Q do you expect them to profit next Q with further price cuts coming, and what about Q3 do you expect profits.

Please do not hesitate to use any ASSUMPTIONS. Your insights are appreciated.

Things are warming up, guys. Some observations from local
Best Buy:

Pentium PCs on display (I and II) - 20
K6 desktop PCs - 12 !

It is 37%, Aptiva-K6-266 is there also.

On the shelves are also Compaq notebooks
based on K6-233 and Media-GX processors,
with total number of portables about 6 or 7.

Regards,

Ali

Deepak:

If your source is reliable then we see AMD in the 30s this summer for sure. Don't forget the K6-3D which will be released soon.

Deepak,
Someone E-mailed me the same information...
Where does the > 70% yield information come from?
Why does AMD need IBM then...maybe just insurance and to gain information on .18 later...
The plot thickens...
70% yields certainly would turn things around. No wonder INTC is heading south of late...Amazing how TA predicts such things...

Deepac! Deepac, If you were AMD or Sanders What is or what was your biggest problem?? short term inability to make CPU chips is commercial quantity! Ding! ding! ding! Right If the problem is solved you have an immeadiate obligation under material diaclosure rules of the SEC to disclose. If the info is important enought you have the right to ask the NYSE to suspend trading untill the new is released. Get a life with your notion AMD is being carful. You know Sanders how could he keep his mouth shut! I rest my case!

Deepak, lost in the past few days was an AMD spokesman saying that there would be no released news on K6 production until April 7, when earnings are announced. A month ago, AMD issued a press release saying they would hold no more conferences on K6 until March. If there were good things to report, there would not be another delay. Things keep slipping and slipping at AMD.....

Deepak, re: <<rocket lots from Fab 25 are showing yields of >70% >>

You're talking about 0.35 process or 0.25?
If its the 0.35, then we should soon see a 'D' stepping, right?
