Version 3 of Super-Express for Datek is now available:

stockclub.com

This is probably the last version you will see for a while, except for any bug fixes.

The changes:

1. No more big ugly buttons at all. "Enter" and "Clear" are now text links.

2. Even more compact.

3. Some "sanity checks" done locally in JavaScript to avoid sending bad orders to the server and having to wait just to find out you futzed-up the order.

Now, I know that some people won't like the text link for enter - that big, ugly button does have one thing going for it - it is easy to hit!

However, it would be quite easy with the current code to substitute graphics for any of the links. I will leave this for somebody more artistically-inclined, though! This is rife with possibilities, and since this page is only loaded ONCE, it won't hurt to go crazy with the graphics. While there are 'image' submit buttons, the approach I've taken is more flexible, and permits text links to be used if desired.

I've decided to hold off on trying to remove the logo and buttons from the lower frame, since this is really best done on the server side, and isn't quite as easy as I'd first thought. (It would only work in MSIE 4.0x anyway.)

As always, your suggestions are welcome.

BTW, this requires a fairly new browser. It should work in Netscape 3.x or 4.x. I'm not sure about MSIE 3.x, but will work with 4.x. The basic requirement is support for Javascript 1.1. (I'm not sure if I've used anything that won't work in 1.0, but it just isn't worth bothering with any more!)
