Jeff, I'm well aware of everything you've pointed out. I'm also aware, and I hope others on this thread are also aware of the tremendous abuses of the trading system by NASD market makers, but since I'm in a charitable frame of mind let's just say that from a dynamic point of view you could simply view market makers as buffers.

But all of this is beside the point. The main point that I was trying to get across is the nonsensical concept over overbought and oversold. It is T/A jargon for either valuation or rate of price rise, but without supporting evidence. How do people decide on "overbought" and "oversold". It phrase is self serving because what it really says is "My analysis is correct -- the price should be $X but since the price is less than $X it is oversold."

Regards,

Paul
