Urlman, as far as posting rumors in an online discussion forum, if you are a professional in the securities industry you might run into a problem with the SEC but that hasn't happened; not one time, never. As for the NASDAQ, I would not hold your breath there either unless you happen to be a principal in the company in question. As for PTSC, they would most definitely be interested in the source but there's little they can do about that short of your volunteering to tell them. The same goes for shareholders. Finally, SI is not in the business of interpreting or evaluating information one way or the other, in any way shape or form. I find that's a widely held misconception by some who ironically engage in those behaviors which they really do care about: personal threats, personal insults, use of offensive language.

There are far more compelling reasons not to post rumors and first and foremost is a loss credibility for yourself and the company if they turn out to be hogwash. If they turn out to be true then what was achieved by letting the cat out of the bag early? It makes more sense to keep it to yourself if you think the information is true giving yourself more buying opportunity.

URLMAN,

I think the gravity of the sin depends largely on WHO you are.
If you are just an individual investor honestly reporting
what you have heard, as it appears Beachcomber is, it is very
unlikely that you will get in any trouble. If your motives are
pure, as opposed to hyping the stock in order to sell or sell short
and leave others holding the bag, then most people will forgive you if
the rumor does not pan out. There will always be rumors and one acts
on them at their own risk.

I applaud your vigilance, though. I find it refreshing.

Best Regards,
Joe
