Jerry, the fact is they are using embedded Java for mobile telephones and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Statements like Java is to [sic] slow for real-world telephony are more than just overly simplistic, they are pure fiction.

I am speaking of the server side (i.e. call processing, routing, etc.) A PII-333 with assembler is too slow for high port density CT. Users of Java GUI apps are complaining about Java. I could not imagine trying to get any port density with 100% java CT.
