I missed SPIE this year for obvious reasons. When I did go, I always prdered the proceedings. I would say that roughly 25% was over my head , way too theoretical, or spacey while 25% was very understandable and useful for present implementation back where I worked. The remaining 50% worked better than any tranquilizers or sleep remedy on the market.

My advice is to try and borrow the pre-printed abstracts from the SPIE conference. I am sure an attendee might loan them to you or you might inquire with SPIE to obtain any extra copies they may have left over. IF you can make it through the abstracts you might consider which volumes you might want to order.
