But Gary with the infrastructure demands for higher and higher speed communications, the reduced costs of packet and ATM handling, not to mention reliability, would RBOC's (who have applied to the FCC for a variance to buy more of this type of equipment) and the CLEC's continue to build this particular type of equipment irrespective of budget reductions? And prefer to make cuts in other areas of cost, that might not have an immediate effect on billable revenues. Maybe including "on demand" purchasing from other vendors, as an example of cost cutting, or capital management.

Just a guess, Dennis

"I do have a concern insofar as the RBOCs and CLECs will not constantly have billions and billions of dollars to spend on network infrastructure...." Gary, their cash flow is incredible, even as rates go lower technological advances (purchased and paid for, of course) increases efficiencies sufficiently so that the bottom line remains healthy.

In fact, the driver here is the absolute need to create and deploy efficiencies which is why the spending continues apace and is likely to increase because demand is exploding. Demand = revenues. IMHO & FWIW -

OT

Gary --

Would you send me a private message and tell me how to initiate one? I've never done one and don't see any instructions.

Thanks!

Pat

Gary,

I appreciate your comments. Your contributions to this thread have been beyond the call. At this point, I believe ASND has the same feel as COMS when it ran up from 25 to almost 60 last year. djane

<<I wish I could do an analysis as thorough, analytical and readable as what you just posted.>>

If you keep trying, Gary and work REAL hard, I'm sure one day you will. <gggggg>
