Just an observation:

First off I'm not a computer guru. I have never posted here and I'm just your average investor. As a matter of fact I lost money on Sycrap in 1995 and swore I'd never buy this dog again and don't own any now. I will say this though. I was watching the idiot tube yesterday and caught the weekly addition of Computer Chronicles. There to my disbelief was a Sycrap product(SparQ). They gave it a great review????(Interesting) I then decided to call my father(an avid computer nerd) and asked him if he had heard anything about this new drive. I use him as a backboard for info because he seems to have a nack for being very objective when it comes to investing. He too is just your average Joe. He has heard considerable news about the Syjet and the SparQ. All of it very favorable. I then proceeded to steal some of computer magazines and read the articles myself. So pops what's your humble opinion??? Response:"Every article is very high on the Syjet and the SparQ. And I think it comes down to price and storage space. The zip drives are nice and everyone has them but in todays world 100megs is just not enough when you consider how much memory is required for video and graphics. The consumer needs more memory and he wants to pay as little as possible. "It's the economy stupid" =="It's dollars/meg stupid" It's a big gamble. Syquest has a track record of poor management but they do have some very good products. Well folks that pop's humble opinion. Its only worth what you paid for it. Syquest is getting a lot, and I mean a lot, of press lately and they are either really on to something or they'll go down the shit tube with all the other has beens. I am interested though and will watch things very closely. Who knows maybe I'll give old Sycrap another chance.

>>the article also incorrectly states that the Jaz cost's almost twice as much as the SparQ.<<

SparQ + 7 disks over lifetime = $399.00
Jaz + 7 disks over lifetime = $813.00

Looks like more than twice as much to me. Not to mention it gets much worse the more disks you need to buy!
