ValueSpec, It is quite obvious you have done ZERO research on the FTEL product. But in an attempt (probably futile ) to stop your bleeting and whining I will answer all your questions.

---------------------------
Q: Is it correct that for $ 19,000 you get a box which enables one to operate 19 to 22 phones on it?

A: No for $19K you get a box with up to 25 ports on it. The price in the release is per port.

Q: That comes to $ 850 to $ 1000 per phone, right?

A: NO! it comes to 850 to 1000 per port. The port is NOT dedicated to a specific phone. With a 24 port machine you have the ability to handle 12 concurrent calls. ( each call uses a port in and a port out ) So each box could handle 24 concurrent calls from any number of phones . The 96 port version ( in development ) will handle 48 concurrent calls .

Q: Now, according to earlier estimates by the FTEL bulls, won't each phone call cost between .075 and .10 per call? Aren't other IP services charging much less than that NOW?

a: a couple of company have announced prices of $0.5 cents per minute
but they have also put the caveat on call quality. The product is obviously not business quality we are and have had independant coroboration of that Quality.

a2: This rate if accurate would be the rate cost for a call routed through the FNET network. A corporate purchaser can route call through their Intranet for NOTHING. They will then piggyback off the FNET network for a rate that is likely much better than those you state above.

Q:Isn't WCOM estimated to be charging FTEL four cents per call?

A: No announcement has been made but 4c per call is a wonderfull deal
a ten minue call will be only 0.4 cents per minute to WCOM. If you meant .04 cents per minute then this was a hypothetical number NOBODY knows the inner details of the agreement with WCOM other than the EXECs at FTEL.

------------------------------------------------------------------
The following questions are where your complete ignorance of FTELs product shows up.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q: Now, for this money, can you call every phone in the US?

A: Duh!! Yes this is Phone to Phone VOIP. ANY PHONE ANTWHERE in the world can be called. Try researching the technology.

Q: What happens when you get a bad connection?

A: If using the unique features of the FTEL gateway that allow you to adjust call quality do not help. You do what you would do if you got a bad connection ( it happens) on a normal phone line ) You hang up and try again.

Q: Do you then have another phone that you use?

A: This question makes no sense the product is not attached to the phone it is at a remote location. Again research the product

Q: What do you do when you find out you have a bad connection? Do
you hang up on the customer and say you'll call back on a different phone?

A: Again this question make no sense and shows a lack of knowledge of the product. GET THIS IDEA THROUGH YOUR HEAD The gateway is completely unrelated to the phone used to make the call. Again research the product

I post this in the forlorn hope you may actually do some research on this topic.
