Hi Stephen- you've offered food for thought! -Here're some links for those who wish to learn a little more about geophysical survey methods, etc.
(I've been on the prowl again, thought I'd share):

A must for learning about- gravity, magnetics, DC resistivity, seismic & more (online schooling: Introduction to Geophysical Exploration):
magma.mines.edu

The above link & many related links can be found here:
Geophysics Reference Materials:
uh.edu

LEARN about- Geophysics: More Than Numbers Processing and Presentation of Geophysical Data (extensive write-up!):
geosoft.com
-also:
geosoft.com

A great reference about Inferring Geology from Geophysics:
(STUNNING images from var. geophysical surveys)
ned.dem.csiro.au

See a couple examples of DTM (Digital Terrain Models):
getech.com

WRT ('With Regard To') aeromag surveys & costs in AB,
see these 2 sites for specifics-
-Spectra Exploration Geoscience:
spectra-expl.com
-and, GEDCO:
gedco.com

And visit here for a co. discussion of Geomagnetism:
agso.gov.au
The slow, smooth change in the average geomagnetic field that occurs over many years, is caused by fluid movements in the Earth's core and is known as the secular variation. Accurate secular variation information is needed to update old field survey data, as used by the petroleum and mineral exploration industries, and for merging data from surveys made at different times.

Much more out there, but for those who care to learn about this topic, it should get ya started. Those who don't, move onward!

Cheers,

PS-- Stephen, as U know, there is a lot to finally choosing a drill target. Much geophysical data comparison & interpretation is required.
-Visit Marum's website for more examples of such kinds of data:
marumresources.com
(also, when there, click on the "Photos/Maps" link)

Thomas (Montellos IR guy) told me a week ago in Calgary that they had recently flown the ACA property for just that purpose. I think Montello is on a steep learning curve. I have read alot of talk of Montellos inexperience -but this is just talk - a company's experience lies in the talents and experiences of thier geologists and in Montello 's case they have two very experienced experts and a young helper. This makes Montello almost as experienced as Ashton since the experts have worked for Kennecott. Montello has drilled -maybe 2% of the holes that they will be drilling over the next year or two. The stock may drop down but it will rise again and then drop etc. etc. They have only been actively drilling for 1.5 months. The targets that were selected to drill first were probably the ones that require winter roads to access. We have a long wait ahead of us. JP
