Anyone (besides me) have the feeling that there WILL be a
rush for V.90 modem updates, but no rush for NEW V.90 modems?

I don't know, perhaps a mixed bag?

56k is still a mystery to a lot of people and part of that is all the crappy articles written by idiots making a big deal out of the incompatible issues. The new standard is good and I think people will be more at ease buying 56k modems but with the pricing on these things the profit margins I would guess are pretty low. Fortunately COMS will be there when DSL and Cable make it more into the mainstream.

Moonray, I think the reverse will happen myself. Do you have a strong need to update your code now? I doubt that many do. But do you know of anyone who is sick and tired of the World Wide Wait? Yeah, I think many will replace their slower modem now.
