I just wanted to share an observation with the thread.

Take a look at the best performing stocks in 1997/1998. (for this example, I'll use AMZN, but this is also true for AOL and Yahoo).

One thing that's common on all those threads is that almost EVERY post on those boards is negative. 1 in 10 posts present a bullish opinion, then the BULL(!) is lambasted by the bears!! It's very, very interesting. It's a complete turnabout of the Iomega thread.

The funny thing is that the Iomega thread (back in the 'old' days) was the same way. It was very negative, with a wall of worry which needed to be climbed as the stock price appreciated 1000%.

There is no doubt something to this. The contrarian theory is almost proved by the action here.

What I find the most interesting is that the same people buying Iomega stock based on 'value', (low P/E, etc..) wouldn't have touched a share of this stock back before it rose 1000%. The stock at that time had a P/E of 900 or so. This is the point on which I ponder on the most.

"*** OT *** Question-Keystroke comb. to dump cache on PC?"

Well, ctrl-alt-del (2x on Win95) dumps everything, so I guess the cache goes, too.
