It's true that there have been very few shipped (I'm guessing less than 100,000 to date) in the three months since SparQ was introduced. But the preliminary reports are in, and it certainly doesn't look good for SparQ. If you search Usenet for "SparQ", you'll find about 1700 messages. Many of those are about mechanical problems.
===========

How many of those do you think were from the same people? I've had zero problems with my internal (gotta be from one of the earliest batches), zero problems with the starter cartridge that came with it and zero problems with the second cartridge I bought. Most of the product related ng's will have lots of negative comments - how many times have you seen anyone go out of their way to post a "what a great product" message? I've posted a couple postive comments about the Sparq as have others, though it's mostly been in response to someone with a problem or someone just ranting for no good reason.

It's worth considering that all the attention the Sparq seems to be attracting has got to be good for Syquest, as long as they keep the problems to a minimum. I haven't seen anything to indicate otherwise yet.
